Yeah, I’ve kind of gone all in on this monochrome drapey look. Also, a rare sighting of lace. I like lace, but my instinct is to toughen it up, and not take it too seriously. My hair is kind of a mess, because I didn’t have a chance to take photos before going out, and thus, the wind had its way with my hair. It’s OK! I kind of like my hair better all mussed-up anyway. With my grown-out bangs at a less awkward length now, all I really do is hit it with the volumizing spray, blow it dry with a few gigantic thermal ceramic rollers in the top for a bit of lift, and then touch up a bit with a big-barrel curling iron. My hair’s very fine, but thick, and with a fair amount of natural wave, and I’ve accepted that it’s largely going to go its own way. Even when I put it up or pull it back, wisps will escape, and it’s always going to be a little messed up within a few minutes of styling.
Bangs are just a bad idea for my hair. I have some cowlicks around my hairline, and the damn things never lie flat, so I think I’m done with them. I’m rather fond of the Modligianiesque length of my face, so trying to visually shorten it isn’t a priority. Sod bangs.
Uh, let’s call it a modular tunic: Milano, Liverpool. This is three pieces, purchased as a single unit. One long sleeveless lace-bottom tunic, a plain, one pocket (and it is a perfect size, shape and location for my iPhone, so I LOVE that pocket) asymmetrical sleeveless tunic, and a long-sleeved wrap cropped cardigan. Stuff like ruching and asymmetry have become really intriguing to me of late, and I’m having fun playing with them.
Scarf: Urban Outfitters, remixed.
Button flowers: Gifted by Megan, remixed. Totally perfect for the monochrome palette I am rocking at the moment. I’m going to mix them to pick up the blue soon, as well.
Leggings: H&M. I’m really glad I’ve had a good clear-out-and-organize recently, because I’d forgot I had grey leggings.
