I have this little problem...

My husband recovered from his cold, only to get hit by the flu on the rebound. Awesome, huh? So the last five days or so have been just fantastic. I’m waiting in dread for it to hit me. I may get lucky and have it miss, but today I got out there and was visible running errands in anticipation of possibly ending up laid flat in the near future.
It’s kind of funny how hypochondriacal and paranoid I’ve gone. Every twinge or feeling of fatigue is cause for alarm, which is why since I’m pretty tired tonight, I’m putting this up, linking to the lovely Patti's Visible Monday, and going to bed. I’ll be about tomorrow, catching up with my Style Nation friends. I owe a lot of you visits! The House Photographer, much as I adore him, is a totally cliched classic whiny man-child when he’s ill, so I’m probably just knackered from looking after him. Oh, please, let that be it.
And yes, I know, I should’ve got a flu shot. I will definitely do that next year!
Details:
Earrings: Topshop. I know I’ve worn these before, but I’m not sure they’ve turned up on the blog. They’re a little cluster of sparkly flowers and teeny ceramic roses, which is a little unlike what I think of as my style, but they were too pretty to resist.
Cardigan: Jackpot, via TK Maxx. It is crazy how long I had to look to find a black grandpa-style cardigan. Seriously, it took me MONTHS to find one. Fortunately, when it finally turned up, it was a good one & very cheaply priced.
Tee: Gap. I’ve wanted to try the blush-and-black combination, and probably everybody else has moved on from it long ago, but I really do like it. I think the blush tee softens the severity of the black a lot, so I will be keeping this in mind for future outfits.
Belt: Gap, remixed. I love this strongly menswear-influenced belt a lot.
Wool suiting shorts: All Saints, via TK Maxx. Oh man, I love these, pleats and all. The fabric is so drapey that the side slit pockets and bountiful pleating actually works well for me. I have another pair of winter shorts (although these are such lightweight wool, I could easily wear them in all but the hottest parts of summer) I’ve worn here a few times, and I’ve wanted more, so these were a lucky, lucky find. Super comfortable and these things DID NOT CREASE all day.
Tights: Topshop, remixed.
Brogues: Endlessly remixed, although these are starting to get overly stretched out, to the point where my feet slide forward and my toes get crunched. Either I need to save them for thick socks, or I just need to replace them. Woe.
