This month’s Everybody, Everywear gave me an opportunity to fulfill a vow I made back in early autumn: that I would one day, this winter, wear a pair of white pants. As far as I’m concerned, that rule about not wearing white pants in winter is made to be broken, at least on days when the weather isn’t too foul. When I found this pair of cropped, slim-fit trousers, I knew I had my rule-breaking pants, since unlike the bootcut jeans I was wearing at the time of the vow, I wouldn’t have to worry about getting the hems filthy.
The weather played nice today (good timing, weather!) and I probably could’ve got away with the jeans, but I decided to stick with the original plan, since it wasn’t cold enough that I’d have to wear particularly warm footwear. I will revisit this look in the summer, with a lighter-weight top, and possibly some sandals. I was comfortable, and not at all self-conscious in this outfit, and I’m delighted that Black and White won this month’s poll.
Details:
Jumper: H&M, remixed. This is kind of nasty acrylic, but I love the shape and the shorter length. The minute I find something similar in a natural fibre, this thing goes to Oxfam.
Necklace: H&M, very remixed.
Belt: Gap, remixed.
Cropped trousers: Gap. Clearance rack score.
Bracelet: I think this is Wallis, and I know it’s remixed.
Shoes: Paolo Corelli, remixed. I’m not sure how well it shows, but the leather is basket weave.
